(Hong Kong, 10 December 2025) — Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) proudly hosted a group of students from Singapore Management University (SMU) as part of the SMU-X experiential learning programme, reinforcing cross-border collaboration, and nurturing the next generation of innovators. Led by Prof. Yuanto Kusnadi, Associate Professor of Accounting (Education) and Academic Director of SMU-X, and in partnership with two HKSTP startups, 22 students participated in the HKSTP Industry Research Projects during the Fall 2025 semester.
Designed to bridge academic learning with real-world industry challenges, the projects provided students with a unique opportunity to work alongside startup founders and apply their knowledge to practical business issues. To further enrich their learning experience and deepen their understanding of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ecosystem, the students visited HKSTP in December 2025 for an immersive ecosystem tour. The visit featured an introduction to HKSTP’s programmes and initiatives, followed by a guided tour of InnoCell, offering participants valuable insights into Hong Kong’s vibrant innovation landscape and firsthand exposure to the entrepreneurial journey.
The collaboration culminated in the SMU-X Final Presentation prior to the students’ return to Singapore. During the session, students presented their project outcomes and recommendations, demonstrating their ability to apply innovative thinking, analytical skills, and academic knowledge to address real-world business challenges. Their work underscored the value of experiential learning and showcased the impact of international collaboration in fostering innovation and strengthening connections between the Singapore and Hong Kong innovation ecosystems.

Building on the success of the Fall 2025 collaboration, HKSTP and SMU are now preparing to welcome a second cohort of students in 2026, further expanding opportunities for cross-border experiential learning, industry engagement, and innovation-driven problem-solving.
