Global University Innovation Network (GUIN) FY2026/27 1st Founding Members Meeting
(Hong Kong, 28 July 2026) — On July 28, 2026, the Global University Innovation Network (GUIN) convened its FY2026/27 1st Founding Members Meeting at The Academy Studio (GAA), InnoCentre, Kowloon Tong. Founding members gathered for an afternoon of strategic dialogue, updates, and forward planning to strengthen GUIN’s role as a global platform for innovation and collaboration.
This meeting not only reviewed GUIN’s recent achievements but also set the stage for new initiatives, partnerships, and programmes that will shape the network’s future. Members engaged in lively discussions, shared insights, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing talent exchange, research translation, and startup development.
Event Highlights
- Activity Report (Jan – Jul 2026): Mr. Raymond Chu, Head of Secretariat Office of GUIN, presented a comprehensive update on GUIN’s activities, highlighting milestones in university collaborations and ecosystem growth.
- Strategic Discussions: Members explored key topics including new member admissions, establishment of honorary advisors, creation of theme-based sub-chapters, and planning for the 11th Edition of Hong Kong Techathon+ and the GUIN Forum 2027.
- HKSTP Programme Updates: Mr. Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development, and Mr. Isaac Tse, Assistant Director of Business Development, introduced upcoming initiatives such as the HKSTP Incubation Programme Revamp, Co-Development & Investment Conference (CDIC), CES 2027, and enhanced laboratory facilities.
Looking ahead, the Global University Innovation Network remains dedicated to deepening cross-border synergies and fostering a dynamic ecosystem for future-ready talent and high-potential ventures. By leveraging the collective expertise of its founding members and partner institutions, GUIN will continue to drive impactful research translation and empower emerging startups to make a lasting global impact.
